Risk and Romance, the Jersey-raised husband-and-wife duo of Grant and Rebekah Reitzel, aren't content to simply make you bob your head or move in your seat. They want each performance to sink into your soul and stay there.
When Grant met Rebekah, it was love at first sight. It was also showtime - she was his opening act. He asked for her number under the guise of playing more together, and the magic began. Their musical journeys have navigated a wandering path - both have released solo records, most notably Rebekah Reitzel's Sal Oliveri-produced 2019 release Pages - and that path has brought them back once again to each other and the project they were destined to do.
"The perfect band is like lightning in a bottle," says Grant. "Perfect chemistry, the perfect amount of ego, skills that complement. For us, to find that in addition to love, is almost impossible. When you have that and staying power, the lightning strikes."
From Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley to Ella Fitzgerald and Johnnyswim, Risk and Romance weave their influences into a hard-strumming, heart-singing live show that captivates audiences of all ages. The 15-year collaboration between husband and wife has resulted in new takes on old rock and blues favorites as well as original material that wears those influences like a badge of honor while charting exciting new musical territory.
"It's all about connection," says Grant. "The intimacy between the audience and the musician can't be replaced or taken for granted, as we've learned especially over the last couple of years. We're so excited and eager to share ourselves and our music with you in person."
